If the gangue mineral of fluorite ore is mainly quartz, and its ore composition is relatively simple, in this case, oleic acid is generally used as a collector, soda is used to adjust the pulp pH, and water glass is used to inhibit the emergence of quartz and other gangue minerals. Good fluorite recovery rate can be obtained when the pulp pH value is in the range of 8-9.
Flotation of fluorite ore containing sulfide ore, generally first use xanthate or black medicine collector to select sulfide, and then use fatty acid flotation fluorite. Sometimes, in order to inhibit the residual sulfide minerals in the pulp, a small amount of cyanide will be added to the pulp species to ensure the quality of fluorite concentrate.

If the main associated minerals of fluorite ore are calcite and quartz, the separation of fluorite ore and calcite is more difficult. In the actual production, water glass, metaphosphoric acid, dextrin and other minerals will be used to inhibit calcium-containing carbonate minerals. These inhibitors can be used alone or in combination. The use method of agents should be based on the specific ore properties and beneficiation test results.
For this type of fluorite mineral, oleic acid is used as collector and sodium carbonate as pH adjustment agent. Both methods of forward flotation fluorite and reverse flotation gangue minerals can be selected. If applying the reverse flotation, the slurry temperature needs to be heated, and the flotation separation effect in the weak acid medium is better. Then after multiple selection can obtain qualified concentrate.
The separation of fluorite ore and barite is also difficult, so the priority flotation process can be used to inhibit the flotation of fluorite from gangue minerals such as barite or first inhibit the fluorite mineral flotation barite. In the production, the concentrator usually adopts the method of mixed flotation. The pharmaceutical system adopted in the mixed flotation is the mixed concentrate of barite and fluorite of sodium carbonate, aqueous glass and oleic acid, and then the fluorite inhibiting barite or barite is used to separate these two minerals. When inhibiting barite, lignin sulfonate, sodium fluoride, sodium silicate and other agents can be used. Citric acid, barium chloride, water glass and other agents can be used to inhibit fluorite.
Fluorite is floating, in the alkaline medium pH in the range of 8-11, oleic acid as a collector, fluorite can be better floating. When using oleic acid as a collector, attention should be paid to the temperature of the mineral slurry, which cannot be lower than 30℃, and the flotation effect is better when the temperature is 50-70℃. In flotation of fluorite, other sulfonic acid or amides such as hydrocarbon yl sulfate, alkyl sulfonated amber gum, sodium oleic amino sulfonate can also be used.
When fluorite flotation, citrate acid can play an inhibitory role, its mechanism of action is the metal cation in complex water, the activation of fluorite is weakened. At the same time, citric acid will react with the calcium cations on the fluorite mineral surface and adsorb on the mineral surface, hindering the reaction between oleic acid and fluorite. In flotation, when the amount of water glass and aluminum salt is small, fluorite can be activated, but if excessive, it will play an opposite role.
