Xinhai Delivers Zimbabwe Gold Mine TSF Project 33 Days Ahead of Schedule

In overseas mining projects, uncertainties surrounding construction timelines, site conditions, and resource availability are common. For the Reed Gold Mine Project in Zimbabwe, Xinhai Mining, as the TSF engineering contractor, collaborated closely with the client and the project team, ensuring the facility's efficient implementation and timely delivery.         

High-Standard Construction, High-Efficiency Progress: Project Completed 33 Days Ahead of Schedule

A prime example is the recently completed 500t/d TSF for the Reed Gold Mine in Zimbabwe. This flatland-type facility features a four-sided embankment structure with a total storage capacity of approximately 400,000 cubic meters. Construction commenced on January 10, 2026, and was successfully completed on March 28, 2026, taking just 77 days. This achievement represents a 33-day advancement on the original schedule, providing strong support for the timely commissioning of the processing plant.

Throughout project execution, the team overcame multiple challenges, including adverse weather conditions like heavy rainfall and strong winds, as well as increased complexities in construction logistics during the Spring Festival period. Through meticulous construction planning and efficient resource allocation, the team ensured both progress and quality were maintained. 

The project utilized over 22 sets of major equipment, including excavators, dump trucks, and rollers. Key works included the excavation and transport of more than 400,000 cubic meters of earth and rock, and the installation of over 50,000 square meters each of geomembrane and geotextile, enabling the efficient completion of the embankment, impermeable lining system, and main reservoir works.

Upon completion, the leaching tailings are now pumped to the TSF, enabling centralized, safe, and standardized disposal. This provides a reliable foundation for the stable operation and future production of the processing plant.
