There are a lot of flows in the flotation process production line. Besides, a lot of reagents are added at the same time. It is known that the rationality of reagent affects flotation index directly. Here we introduce some researches on the flocculating agent in the flotation process.

As the name implies, flocculating agent is a kind of reagent with flocculation effect in the mineral processing industry, which is mainly used for fine-graded or micro-sized mineral grains. It is an indispensable part of the flotation process.

mineral beneficiation test

Flocculating agent plays an important role in the mineral processing industry. It has become a challenging issue to find a kind of efficient and low-cost flocculating agent in the chemical industry. With the means of elemental analysis and structural characterization, someone found that acryloyl can graft to two natural high polymer molecules successfully, and then form amorphous polymers.

This kind of flocculating agent based on natural high polymer has water solubility and non-ph dependence. Because re-compounded raw materials has complete group, this amphoteric flocculants has a strong ability to fade capability in a wider range of dosage and pH value, such as anionic (acid blue 113, > 95%), neutral (reactive black 5, > 95%), cationic dyes (methyl orange, > 50%). This flocculating agent can be regarded as the good material used for industrial applications in the longer term. Besides, somebody made some researches on synthesis and characterization of a mixed flocculant: chitosan-graft N- methylpiperazine chloride.

flotation separation system

Firstly, flocculation is the most widely used method in water treatment. The flocculating agent based on the natural high polymer is well known due to its environmental friendliness. Someone successfully synthesized chitosan-graft N- methylpiperazine chloride and made characterization analysis by means of infrared analysis, magnetic resonance imaging, X-ray scattering techniques, etc. N- MPC (N-methylpiperazine chloride), grafted to chitosan, enhances the ionization of chitosan trunk and improves its water solubility. The flocculation performance of this flocculating agent is tested by bentonite suspension under different PH values. The solution turbidity and Zata potentiometric determination are the basis for determining flocculation performance. They also studied the characteristics of industrial wastewater before and after flocculation, then studied polymer and polymer morphology by Tem (transmission electron microscope).

In the current mineral processing industry, research on flotation reagent has become a very important and special field to develop.
