This project is a 1000t/d processing plant invested in by a local gold mining enterprise in Zimbabwe. Xinhai Mining, as the EPC contractor, was responsible for the entire process service, from ore beneficiation testing and process design to equipment supply and on-site installation and commissioning. The ore is characterized as easily leachable, and while the process flow is relatively straightforward, it requires highly efficient equipment and a stable system to maximize recovery rate and economic benefits.
Ore Analysis & Testing: Comprehensive amenability tests were first conducted on the run-of-mine ore, confirming its easily treatable nature, which provided the scientific basis for designing a simplified yet highly efficient process flow.
Two-Stage Closed-Circuit Crushing: A two-stage crushing circuit comprising "Jaw Crusher + Cone Crusher" with a vibrating screen in closed circuit was adopted to reduce the ore size from 0-500mm to the required feed size for grinding.
Two-Stage Grinding & Classification: A two-stage grinding circuit coupled with two stages of hydrocyclone classification was designed to ensure the grinding product fineness reached 90% passing 200 mesh, achieving sufficient liberation of gold minerals.
Efficient Thickening & Leaching: The ground slurry is first thickened by a concentrator to increase density before entering eight series-connected leaching agitation tanks for the Leaching and Absorption process, ensuring adequate reaction time between gold and cyanide.
Optimized Configuration & Stable Operation: A dedicated air compressor was configured for the leaching system to avoid air supply interference, ensuring stable operation of the airlifts and guaranteeing the high gold leaching rate of approximately 90%.
The project was successfully commissioned and reached the designed production capacity. The Xinhai team coordinated efficiently to ensure project progress despite numerous client-initiated design changes. Optimized general layout design reduced the civil engineering volume, saving investment and shortening the construction period. The process flow demonstrated stable and highly efficient operation, achieving a final gold leaching rate of about 90%.
