Xinhai Mining Technology and Equipment Inc. undertook the iron ore processing experimental research in Philippines, aiming to provide scientific basis for the mineral processing plant design as technical basis for future site production.
The ore contained Cu of 0.15%, S of 5.59% and Fe of 43.47%. It was polymetallic refractory ore with close dissemination relationship of S & Fe and fine dissemination particle size. Metallic minerals in the mine mainly include chalcopyrite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, etc. The main gangue minerals were quartz, chlorite, calcite, mica and some clay minerals. The relation between sulfide minerals and oxide minerals was very close, which caused the difficulty of mineral liberation. According to the characteristics of the ore, the process program "obtaining iron rough concentrate by stage grinding & stage low intensity magnetic separation and desulfurize the iron rough concentrate by flotation" was adopted. As a result, the iron concentrate with Fe content of 68.93%, S content of 0.82% and Fe recovery rate of 69.32% and sulfur concentrate with S content of 33.69% were gained. The copper concentrate with Cu content of 13.03% could be obtained by the comprehensive recovery of the magnetic separation tailings.
